I've really had enough. I want it to stop. But in truth I know it won't. As long as there is a middle majority there will be marketers who will adapt their techniques to persuade, cajole and bully people into making purchases for things they can't afford and are probably not even worth the money.
But you can do something about it. Firstly, do a little research - and believe the outliers. If someone tells you this is too good to be true, they are probably right, it's too good to be true. And if that research struggles to bring up anything negative, always remember, there are very few things where there is no negative feedback, so the lack of negativity could be a warning sign that it's all been censored. And secondly, set yourself a budget each year to spend on your personal and business development. Once that money has gone, it's gone. There is no more to spend on courses and programmes. Amazingly this approach makes you much more discerning about what you buy.
