And it's the same for some entrepreneurs in relation to their business. They run a fair weather business. When things are easy they throw their all at it, they get the job done. Then there are the difficult tasks, the difficult times, the difficult customers, the just plain difficult stuff in business. Our reaction to these times? We procrastinate, we make ourselves busy on other things, and we become experts at convincing ourselves that there are reasons beyond us that prevent us from achieving and being a success.
Much like when I don't go out for a run "Oh, well, it's the wind, it's too windy to go for a run at the moment."
Yet when we change our strategy and run in the wind, find ways to build our strength and endurance ability, so our fitness increases. And that's what we need to do in business too. We need to raise our game when things get tough to increase our business muscle.
It's time for some honesty with yourself - are you running a fair weather business? Is it time for you to adapt your strategy and get running in the wind to strengthen your business?
